Question: Do you need to have a fence around an above ground pool?

Anwser: Above ground pools over four feet do not require a fence however they must have a removable ladder or a ladder that lifts and locks.

 

Question: How high does a fence around a pool need to be?

Anwser: The fence must be at least 4 feet high. Any gates must open away from the pool and be self-closing, self-latching, lockable, and at least 4 feet tall. Gate latches must be located on the pool side of the gate, at least 54 inches above the bottom and 3 inches below the top of the gate.
